Greetings.
For the males who read this (which happen to be none), girls love having days to themselves, especially if it's with a group of their closest friends. Traditionally, they'll spend the entire day shopping and spending your mortgage money, but this isn't always the case. Bev, Wanda, and their posse hang around at one of their houses, drink wine/beer, watch chick flicks, and gossip. Basically what I am leading up to is the entire after school day - from 3 p.m. to 10:45 p.m. (curfew's at 11) - became a girls' day out for me and Claire, except Joseph got thrown in at the end.
I drive Claire home almost everyday after school. We didn't have Gamer's Club and I didn't have to pick up Bentley from school, so we thought "Hey! Let's have a day to ourselves!" And we did. We went to see the 3:50 showing of TANGLED (pretty decent, really funny, better plot twists than normal. 4.5 out of 5 on the Disney scale.) at The Pagoda (Claire paid for the movie and snacks) and then we went to dinner at Jackson's Tex-Mex for dinner and CAKE!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!! CAKE!!!!!!!!!!!! (I paid for dinner and cake.)
On our way to Jackson's, Claire had a little mishap. She had placed the big tub of popcorn on the dashboard in front of her and after one stoplight she forgot to brace it... Well, let's just say that the mess that occurred took fifteen minutes to clean out in the parking lot of a local Costco and the butter stains on her crotch made her look like someone had given her a nasty surprise. After we ate at Jackson's, we went around the back alley behind Jackson's to get to Kermit parked on the other side, much to Claire's protestations. She rationed, "Something that only happens in movies already happened to us! Do you want to risk it?" Yes. Yes, I did. So she reluctantly followed me through the alley. I turned the corner to go into the alley and screamed. Claire nearly jumped out of her skin because I was joking. She almost tried to kill me. (She's almost a pacifist and she couldn't kill me even if she tried. Ha ha, Claire, ha ha!)
Now that covered until 7, so what'd we do for the rest of the time? Nothing. Well, nothing of importance. We went by Joseph's house. He wasn't there. We stopped by Kenny H's house. He wasn't there either. We dropped by Claire's house around 8 to use the bathrooms and then we went back to Joseph's and camped out in front of their house until they got home, around 8:45. It was awkward, but Joseph let us in and Claire's feet defrosted. (She was silly enough to leave her shoes at her house. She just thought we were going to go out to some field someplace and listen to music in the car. Wrong-o.) We watched a Fairly Odd Parents then went back into Joseph's room and watched him play SUPER MEAT BOY (it's actually fun to watch) and BIOSHOCK 2. When I go to Joseph's, I kind of have an established spot in his room. I lay diagonally on his bed with my feet at his nighttable and my head where Joseph's head is when he plays videogames and watches TV at the other corner. So basically I had my face in his hair. It was great. His hair smells really nice. I can't describe it but it smells clean. =) Plus, I was kind of playing with his hair and nuzzling his head and such and he didn't complain. Well, he complained once when I accidentally pulled his hair to hard, but that was because I accidentally laid on it. Oops.
We left around 9:50 and went to the field Claire was hoping for but on the drive there it was foggy and the fog was blowing at us so hard it felt like we were in Stephen King's THE MIST. We got freaked and I drove at a nice, slow 25 until we got to the spot. Claire said that Joseph and I looked cute and kind of perfect for each other (duh. ha ha) and we just sat and talked and listened to music until about 10:40 when we drove for five minutes to drop her off and then another ten seconds for me.
So yeah. GREAT night. I wish more of my sisters could have come - that would have made today absolutely perfect - but today was the best day I have had in a very long time and I wish I had something more to commemorate it. OMG! I FORGOT MY TICKET STUB! CLAIRE STILL HAS THEM! I HOPE SHE DOESN'T THROW THEM AWAY! (By the way, I collect ticket stubs from movies I go to and, since there are so few, I can tell you exactly whom I went with and what memory I have of that event.)
Hugz and hugz to infinity because I am in a great mood

Review: THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE
Greetings.
Well, Nana, Bev, and I went to see THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE earlier this evening. My verdict: Four out of five stars. It was good. I love Nic Cage. He's a great actor. His character is hysterical and he's hot. I'm sorry, but for a 1,000+ year old guy, Balthasar is hot. But then again, so is Nic Cage. You know, I think he looks better with longer hair. But then, that may be my own personal taste. On guys I like-
Okay, I digress. The guy who played Dave, Jay Bucharel, I think his name was, did very well at playing the lovable nerd. I adore lovable nerds. Which explains why I love Joseph. He has longish hair, glasses, and that confidence in who he is as a person. Very sexy. Anyways, Jay did a great job. The plot of the movie was predictable but I found it very interesting. I liked how they fairly accurately referenced Merlin and Morgana Le Faye. But as I recall, Merlin only had one charge (hello, Arthur) and he never died. Morgana led him to a cave and made him sleep. AND he aged backwards. Sheesh, they need to do their homework. Sorry, I am a big myth and legend fan. In fact, Greek mythology is one of my specialties and I was very happy with Rick Riordan and how he did his PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS series. He stayed very true to the established myths.
Anyways, good movie. Go see it. (P.S. ALFRED MOLINA ROCKS HARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Welcome Back, Kotter
Greetings.
I'm just messing around with the title, guys. My name is not now, nor has it ever been, Kotter. I was just commenting on how long it's been since I have posted a blog. And truthfully, I missed it so much. It's so very therapeutic. I love it! The reason I haven't been on recently is because at the Sheraton, where the Gaming Convention (WHEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!) was held, made you pay for Internet in the rooms and I was usually in one of the ballrooms which only has Internet with a password. So, basically, no Internet. Which also meant that I had, like, 20 updates on Facebook and seventy billion emails. And I missed talking to Ally... Wah... I still have her birthday presents!
Anyways, I am having a birthday party and its another one of those pool party dealios with all of my friends. I wish I could think of something better, but as a consolation, we're watching ALICE IN WONDERLAND while we eat so YAY!!!!!!!! It's in my top 3 for Favorite Fantasies, the other two being THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE and HELLBOY. (omg, Hellboy is so smexy! I love him! I'm weird, get over it.) The LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy occupies slots 4, 5, and 6, btw. (Also, I'd like to point out that two of the INUYASHA movies, AFFECTIONS TOUCHING ACROSS TIME and THE CASTLE BEYOND THE LOOKING GLASS are my numbers 4 and 5 slots for animated. I LOVE INUYASHA!!!!)
Wow, I got way off track. So, birthday. I don't know when exactly I'm going to have it, but definitely on my birthweek... I'm worried that it'll coincide with rehearsal for ALICE IN WONDERLAND, for which I got the QUEEN OF HEARTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAHOO!!!!!! (...omg, did I seriously just say "Yahoo"???????) And I'm so psyched to be seventeen. I can finally buy Joseph BIOSHOCK 2. ... Wow, that's a really lame reason. Also, in October, I can transport minors. Bennie, Joss, and I have plans to go get Bennie's hair cut and donated to Locks for Love and I'm treating them to mani-pedis.
I can't wait to be seventeen!

Fine Cinema
Greetings.
Ha ha ha ha ha!! I can't believe you fell for the title...
Nothing really exciting happened today. I mean, I watched movies, INUYASHA: AFFECTIONS TOUCHING ACROSS TIME, THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG, and the "As Told By Ginger" special FAR FROM HOME, and I had dinner with Nana and Gramps and Bentley and Dad and Bev. But today I wish to discuss my favorite movies.
I separate my favorite movies by genre. As I have said before, THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN is my favorite action movie, ADDICTED TO LOVE is my fave rom-com, BATMAN FOREVER and BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT are my favorite superhero movies (I consider those different than action because they have formerly-established characters), and the newer ALICE IN WONDERLAND is my favorite fantasy movie. But there are three movies tied for my favorite animated movie: PONYO, CORALINE, and THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS. PONYO is a fantastically made movie. They say it's a rip-off of THE LITTLE MERMAID, but it's actually a retelling of the original Hans Christian Andersen and an opera. And, unlike the Disney version, it's not based on appearance and short term love. This movie is based on the purest kind of love: the love of a child, which is exactly what Ponyo and Sosuke (the prince) are.
CORALINE is a well-developed stop-animated movie. There are intriguing characters, like the Cat, Wybie, and Other Mother, psychological analysis, and a true hero. Coraline is a realistic girl who feels unloved by her workaholic parents, especially her sharp-tongued callous mother. So she escaped to the Other World where she receives everything she ever wanted. Unfortunately, that paradise is short-lived when she realizes that Other Mother wants to consume her life. It's a complicated movie. Some say it's creepy, but I find it fascinating.
But the movie I watch over and over again and not ONCE has it gotten old is THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS. I watch it every Christmas, Halloween, and my birthday. It's an amazing concept. I don't think anyone has ever gone inside the different holidays before, though the SANTA CLAUS movies come very close. Jack is the most endearing dead guy and Sally is... peculiar. I mean, who wouldn't want to be able to do anything and not get hurt and, when injured, sew yourself back together? Evel Kinevel would KILL for that extra security. And the songs... so catchy! I mean, I could sing "The Oogie Boogie Song" for days. I just love the movie.
It has occurred to me that I like almost every single Tim Burton movie I have ever seen. Even SWEENEY TODD if I don't look at the bloody parts. But I still haven't seen EDWARD SCISSORHANDS and I will NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER see ED WOOD or WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. (Long story, perhaps I'll tell it another time.)
